Michael Jordan looked out for Jason Kidd
This story might come out as one of the most surprising ones you’ve ever heard. The legend who is known for his killer mentality and fierce playing style, took it easy on his opponent. The person in question is 2011 NBA champion Jason Kidd and the moment is from the match that took place in 1995. During the interview, he shared, “My first time guarding in Dallas. I was just a little nervous and I think he could see that so he came up to me and said, ‘Look don’t worry kid I like you so I won’t embarrass you tonight.’”
He continued, “I was guarding on the right box and he did a spin move to the baseline I was like ‘Oh no! Just don’t dunk it.’ And then he jumped and kept going on the other side of the basket and did a little reverse lay up and that’s all, he didn’t dunk it.”
He revealed how later Jordan winked at him to remind him that he kept his promise. This was the first time, he was up against the legend which caused him nervousness. However, Jordan’s kind gesture toward the rookie Kidd seemed to help him. He managed to score 25 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists. The Mavericks coach was also able to witness a moment when Jordan was exactly the opposite.

Once Kidd had the opportunity to play alongside Jordan. It was in this game that he realized what made Jordan one of the greatest on the court. It was Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen’s charity game, where Jordan had to play against the Bulls.
