JJ Redick deals with critics

Redick’s recent statement about praising Boston Celtics player Derrick White didn’t sit well with a few fans. What was the 2x Rupp Trophy winner’s statement that caused chaos among the netizens? Taking to his X account, Redick wrote, “Derrick White is an All-Star.

Some fans were against his opinion and expressed how other great players deserve that recognition. Many fans mentioned that other players can make the All-Star nomination. As fans shared their disapproval, Redick has also been quick to dish out his take on why White deserves the recognition. In response to one of the fans’ comments, he replied, “Like I’ve said in previous responses- my all star/all nba/end of season picks are always transparent on the podcast. I name names. No problem with that.”

Redick’s comment came after the Boston Celtics’ latest win. The Celtics were the shining stars this Christmas. So has been White. After the Celtics managed to turn the tables, achieving a triumphant victory over their arch-rivals, the Lakers, Celtics fans are on cloud nine. White contributed about 18 points and 11 rebounds against the Lakers. Now Redick has been constantly arguing with multiple netizens to prove his point.

Is Redick right about Derrick White?

Fans might be right about White’s stats this season, however, he has been phenomenal in some games. White delivered an impressive performance of 30 points and seven rebounds in an overtime thriller against the Golden State Warriors.

That’s not all. Following that, he scored 28 points in a game against the Sacramento Kings in the absence of Celtics star Jayson Tatum. The team was able to beat the Kings with 144-119.
