LeBron James was at it again, this time against Germany. “I like those better than the blowouts,” LeBron had said after the Sudan match, and his wish came true. In a thrilling game, Team USA narrowly defeated Germany 92-88. 2x Olympic gold medalist LeBron James turned the game around in the fourth quarter, earning praise from Boston Celtics legend Kendrick Perkins, who was vocal about his support for LeBron and Team USA’s incredible feat.
In the recent exhibition match, Team USA trailed until the third quarter. James then stepped up, scoring 11 of his points in the final quarter, securing the 92-88 win for the team. Perkins, echoing the sentiments of many USA fans, took to Twitter to express his admiration: “That grown man strength hits different huh? Bron out here bullying these young boys. God Bless America.”

LeBron’s performance was nothing short of spectacular. He scored 20 points on an impressive 8-of-11 shooting, including three three-pointers. He also contributed with five rebounds and four assists. His teammate Stephen Curry highlighted LeBron’s impact, saying, “Obviously Bron has been taking over the fourth quarter, which has given us a huge bump.” Despite the win, Curry emphasized that Team USA has yet to play their best offensive game.
The recognition also poured in from opponents when the German head coach Gordie Herbert praised his team’s effort but acknowledged LeBron’s dominance. “Then somebody named LeBron James made some pretty good plays at the end,” he remarked.
During Team USA’s previous game against South Sudan as well, it was LeBron’s 3-pointer with 8 seconds on the clock that helped them take a lead and eventually clinch the win in a close 100-101 victory. With that, Team USA ends their exhibition games 5-0.

LeBron, now 39, previously won gold medals with Team USA in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. James averaged 15.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per contest in 2008 and then 13.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in the next outing. Opting to rest, King James missed both 2016 and 2020 Olympics. Now as he returns, a decade later, with a team believed to be in line with Michael Jordan’s Dream Team and clutch performances like today’s, surpassing the Bulls legend might not be all too difficult.
