Player-turned-analyst Kendrick Perkins is not exactly known for mincing his words. Recently on a podcast, he said, “Both of y’all crazy as hell, y’all lost your damn mind.” Previously, he even criticized Luka Doncic after the game 3 loss and called him a liability. However, the Dallas Mavericks responded in an emphatic fashion winning the game with 38 points. Still the former Boston Celtics player Perkins doesn’t believe in Mavs winning another game.

Kendrick Perkins and Devin Harris joined the Road Trippin’ crew of Richard Jefferson and Allie Clifton to discuss game 5. The former Mavs player Harris was optimistic of Jason Kidd’s team. Even Jefferson agreed there could be a chance for Dallas to win at TD Garden. But Perkins was having none of that. He even gave a very comical anecdote to emphasize the Celtics winning.

I got a better chance of having breakfast in the morning with Beyonce than Dallas winning game five,” Perkins stressed, via the Road Trippin. “That sh** ain’t happening man, they’re not winning game five,” he added. The 39-year-old was confident because he knew the secret that Boston would bring in for tonight’s game. With that secret in mind, he made a bold prediction. “Matter of fact I’m going to go out on the limb and say that Boston is going to return the favor.”

Not only Kendrick Perkins believes that the Celtics would win at home. He is very sure that Boston will return the favor and win game 5 with a drubbing of the Mavs. All of this is possible because of the energy that the fans would bring in at the TD Garden. ” It’s the energy that everybody’s been waiting on. It’s nowhere in hell dallas walking in that arena and getting a win. ” He even spoke about how the performances of Dallas players have been affected because of the crowd.

Kendrick Perkins’ blunt take on Mavericks

But at the end of the day going back to the bean town listen man it’s going to be a different environment,” Perkins spoke about one-half of the star duo of the Mavericks. He spoke about how Kyrie Irving has not played well in that environment. Irving averaged a mere 12 and 16 points in games 1 and 2, respectively. Similarly, he also criticized the role player Dereck Lively for not performing at TD Garden.

Lively managed to score 2 points per match in the Finals on the Celtics’ home turf. Meanwhile, at the American Airlines Center, the 20-year-old has had a double-double in both games. But the criticism is nowhere harsh in comparison to Doncic’s. The former NBA Champ Perkins went off on Doncic. He said, “Just a couple weeks ago we was talking about him being the best player in the league, best in the series, he’s far from that right now, because of the defensive side of the ball and him being a defensive liability.”

With the odds, and the crowd in favor of the Boston Celtics, can the Dallas Mavericks once again find that extra motivation to beat them? Or will the prediction of Kendrick Perkins come true and the Mavs would crumble under the pressure?
