Kenny “The Jet” Smith’s relationship went under the radar until he was engaged to his girlfriend, Tia Jurcic. Yes, fans are pretty surprised by the news, and now only a timeline of the lead-up to Kenny Smith’s engagement will fix it.

Going public at the Super Bowl

It’s unclear when the UNC alum first met Tia Jurcic or how their relationship began. But if sources and social footprint are taken into consideration, they made their relationship public only in February 2024, at Michael Rubin’s Fanatics Super Bowl event.

A native of Croatia, Jurcic is not exactly a public figure like the former wives of Smith. She isn’t connected to the basketball world either. However, according to TMZ, her stepfather is prominent economist and politician Ljubo Jurcic. Tia is also a mom to her son, Domenick. For everyone to take note, he’s seemingly a young hooper!

Tia Jurcic is Kenny’s cheerleader

Tia Jurcic has been by the two-time NBA champion’s side at several major events over the past year. She attended the Kenny Smith Charity Poker Tournament earlier this year and joined him in New York during his March Madness coverage. Despite their growing public presence, the couple has largely kept their relationship low-key and off-camera.

In August, Jurcic celebrated her birthday with a lavish backyard party, and naturally, Kenny was there to mark the occasion. The pair has shared a few lighthearted “Shaq-style” Reels, giving fans brief glimpses of their chemistry and humor. Still, public appearances together remain rare, and they wish to keep much of their relationship private.

The Jet pops the question

Kenny and Tia frequently share pictures from their travels on a private jet. So when Jurcic shared pictures from the jet last week, neither she nor her fans probably guessed what was coming.

What seemed to be a regular vacation to a beach, with the photodump to complement, turned into a huge milestone. Jurcic and Smith announced their engagement with a joint Instagram post showing off the massive ice Kenny gave her. (Yeah, that undisclosed TNT contract pays well.)

He didn’t reveal how the engagement went. Considering how private Kenny is, it’s unlikely even the Inside Guys will get the inside details out of him.

Kenny Smith’s ex-wives and children

During his NBA career, Kenny Smith was married to Dawn Reavis, with whom he shares two children, Kayla and KJ. The internet in general doesn’t have much info on how the two met. Reaves also loved to keep a low profile during those days and even today. It is believed they were married in July 1990, before calling it a day in May 2005.

Not long after becoming a permanent fixture on Inside the NBA, Smith married English actress Gwendolyn Osborne in 2006. She is known for her appearances in Wonder Woman 1984 and Jack and Jill. Together, they have two children, Malloy and London. However, Osborne filed for divorce in 2018.

While Smith has built a reputation for his basketball insights and humor on TNT, glimpses into his personal life have been few and far between. His children, too, have made just occasional appearances on Inside the NBA. But for now, these are past, and fans and friends alike will love to celebrate the newly engaged couple.
