The Angel smiled at Los Angeles as they celebrated victories in two different sports. First, the World Series Game 1, had the first walk-off grand slam in World Series history! A 6-3 win for the Dodgers against the Yankees at home, followed by the Lakers who overcame a 22-point second-quarter deficit to beat the Phoenix Suns. Watching the second game at courtside was none other than the 3x DPOY, who had a hilarious back-and-forth with Suns’ superstar Kevin Durant.

“KD you talm bout “ im not a laker im a Magic” man you not a SUN you a thunder/warrior 😂🤷🏾‍♂️.” In the trash-talking segment, Durant seemingly questioned Dwight Howard’s presence at the Lakers game. He referred to the DWTS contestant as an Orlando Magic star rather than a Purple and Gold star. DH12 accepted his past “I’m a Magic man, you right,” although he did not give back in the video, he surely did on X.

Where he used the same logic and questioned the Slim Reaper for his association with the Warriors and OKC Thunder. After all, the 2014 MVP has represented the Thunder in 641 games and won championships with the Golden State. Dwight Howard also had the last laugh as the Lakers won 123-116, despite a historic achievement for Kevin Durant.

The Suns had already beaten one team in Los Angeles, 116-113 in an overtime win over the Clippers. While the results did not duplicate against the Lakers, Kevin Durant moved on to the 16th spot on the NBA’s all-time field goals made list with 9,969. He overtook Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins (9,963), and next on the target is Carmelo Anthony with 10,119. But Dwight Howard was not the only Lakers supporter who was over the moon with the performance of Purple and Gold.

Dwight Howard and the real ‘Magic’ celebrate LeBron James and Co.’s win

Even though KD questioned DH12 and his Lakers connection, no one will doubt Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson’s loyalty. After all, he spent his entire career with the Lakers and won five Championships. He too celebrated the victory on X, “AD is off to an MVP-type season, scoring 35 points to lead the Lakers over the Suns!”

Since he is also part of the ownership group of the Dodgers, the victory was double sweet. “It was a great night for me – first a Dodgers win and then the Lakers! 👏🏾.” And before this, he also appreciated Freddie Freeman and the Dodgers in Game 1 victory. “Freddie Freeman with the first walk off grand slam in World Series history to carry us to a 1-0 start! Wow!! That was one of the most exciting World Series games I’ve seen or been apart of! It left me breathless, and it was just Game 1! 🤩.”

Not a bad day to be an Angelino and a Los Angeles fan, right? And Dwight Howard was set to enjoy the day to the fullest, as he, alongside his DWTS partner, Daniella Karagach, performed a fun dance routine during halftime. DH12’s presence also made a few of the Lakers supporters nostalgic as they once again demanded a return for the Center. Will it come to fruition? Only time will tell.
