Amidst a crowd of thousands back in 2022, Rajon Rondo got down to one knee at the NYFW event to propose to his longtime girlfriend. Fast forward to 2024, the 2x NBA champion announced his retirement in April and headed to Italy to get married to his partner, Latoia Fitzgerald. His former teammates and close friends have once again reunited with the 38-year-old for his special day. Those who couldn’t join him extended their good wishes on social media. 

Rondo’s former teammate Kevin Garnett also wished the 4x All-Star. He shared a clip from the Instagram page, Hotfreestyle, on his Stories. In the clip, the retired NBA player was seen dancing alongside his to-be wife at the wedding. Garnett wrote, “Congratulations to my dog. @rajonrando.” 

The post is captioned, “Rajon Rondo and his wife walked out to ‘March Madness’ at their wedding in Italy 🔥” Rondo was part of the Boston Celtics‘ Championship roster in 2008. Garnett has often praised Rondo for the value and contribution he brought to the team. 

As ‘March Madness’ by Future played in the background, Rajon Rondo and his bride, Fitzgerald, danced and strutted their way into the party. While Fitzgerald wore a white off-shoulder gown, Rondo looked dapper in a white suit. Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Troy Daniels, Travis Scott and many more were in attendance at the wedding in Italy to celebrate Rondo’s special day. How did it all start though?

Rajon Rondo’s relationship with Latoia Fitzgerald began quite recently

Rondo began dating the Pennsylvania-based fashion designer Fitzgerald in 2020. And finally, in 2022, the 2x NBA champ decided to take it to the next level. At an NYFW event for Fitzgerald’s own clothing brand, ‘Lionne,’ Rondo got up on the runway after the show ended. 

To the surprise of the audience present at the event, the 4X NBA All-Star got down on one knee with a humongous diamond ring in his hand and proposed to her. 

The crowd cheered as the bride said yes. Famed model Draya Michele, Fivio Foreign, Flo Milli, and many more were in attendance at the event. The champ was previously married to Ashley Bachelor. Ashley and Rondo share two kids named Rajon Rondo Jr. and Ryelle Rondo. It’s a new beginning for the former Los Angeles Lakers point guard and Fitzgerald, and we send our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple.
