The Inside the NBA received the honor of announcing the regular season awards this year. Every day, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, and Ernie Johnson, would take chances and announce the season awards. Yesterday, it was Shaq who announced the 6MOTY, and today it was Charles Barkley, who announced the Clutch Player of the Year, but in the “worst” way possible. His live television blunder was called out by both Smith and Shaq, but the Philadelphia 76ers legend decided to defend himself.

Charles Barkley was given a card with the name of the winner on it. It’s usually a formality to give a brief introduction about the award before calling out the winner. However, Barkley gave none. The 1993 MVP opened the card, and announced, “Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors”, to which Johnson added, “Is the Kia Clutch Player of the Year for 2024”. Smith told Barkley, That’s the worst announcement ever“. Anyhow, Barkley had some words to defend himself.

Why don’t you all take turns and kiss my a**? I don’t care who goes first. Shaq go first, Kenny you go second“, told Barkley to his co-hosts. This is the detailing that the TNT crew expected from Barkley when he was asked to announce the award. Anyhow, the Sixers icon continued, I did it right, I read what the card said. It said Steph Curry, Golden State Warriors. That’s what it all said.”

Barkley did not stop with this. He had a few more ridiculous things to say, and one such was his hilarious question to Stephen Curry, who joined the broadcast.

Curry, the CPOTY of 2024, joined the TNT broadcast, where he was questioned by BarkleyWell Steph, number one congratulations. Well deserved. But I got a serious question for you. Obviously, we both are spokesmen of the Subway. Please tell me you don’t eat tuna fish or chicken salad away from home. That’s just wrong.” Curry laughed and questioned, What are you talking about ChuckYou are trying to get nutritional advice from me? What are we doing?”

There was a concern behind this question from Barkley. He revealed, “I just have a strict rule. You cannot eat tuna fish away from home unless you saw somebody actually make it. Cause you don’t know how long it’s been sitting there. Same thing with chicken salad. You know I’m right Steph.”  Ernie Johnson was once again in denial. Anyhow, this is not the first time we have listened to Barkley say things like this. It’s normal at this point!
