My whole body is bothering me.” This was Josh Hart’s statement after the Game 5 loss to the Pistons. It was not only him but even Jalen Brunson suffered an injury during the game, which many believe was the turning point for Detroit. Now, the Motor City has the chance to level the series and force Game 7. What about the Knicks player who suffered an injury? Will they prove to be the deciding factor? All the questions were answered on the latest Inside the NBA broadcast.

To help the crew, Stephanie Ready was on the sidelines providing the much-needed information. First, updating about the captain of the Knicks, the TNT reporter said, “When he (Jalen Brunson) was asked today about the times he’s left the game, was it due to the ankle, he would not even confirm the reasons why he was leaving. The Knicks are being very tight-lipped.” Brunson appeared to roll his ankle last game, and that’s why the concerns continued about the Knicks’ top scorer.

So, the New York team is being cautious with their update regarding Jalen Brunson. It’s not just him who is coy about his injuries. Even Josh Hart followed his captain’s method. “He was asked today how he feels. He used the word “exquisite.” Neither of those Knicks players are listed on the injury report. Both are refusing to even acknowledge the injury,” said Reddy. The team’s regular-season steals leader, however, did provide a vague update about him dealing with his injury.

Hart did in fact today say that they looked at some things, meaning some imaging, but would not reveal what sort of imaging. As per TNT, it could range from X-ray to an MRI, but there was no direct response confirming the report. But the Knicks fan base can breathe a sigh of relief as both superstars are playing Game 6. Brunson already has 30 on Detroit; meanwhile, Josh Hart is eyeing another double-double with 11 points and 8 rebounds after the three quarters. But the update about the Motor City star is not that positive.

Jalen Brunson thrives post-injury, while the Pistons await their star center

Isaiah Stewart, who has been the number two option behind Jalen Duren, missed his 5th straight game. The apparent knee issues continue to nag the center. The 23-year-0ld leads the team in terms of blocks per game during the regular season. In the series opener, he would feature only for 19 minutes. About his recovery, Ready added, “I spoke with him this morning. He is coming along, he’s doing more things on the court, nothing contact yet, he’s just going through defensive sets and things he would be doing on the offensive end.

Speaking about the offensive, the severity of the game was not lost on the coaches. The TNT reporter said that JB Bickerstaff and Tom Thibodeau both echoed a similar sentiment on how to win the game. “Both coaches, moments ago, told us that it comes down to that rebounding, turnovers, trying to control the boards. But limit your turnovers while forcing your opponent into many more to so we’ll see how it goes tonight.”

Both sections of the fans feel their team deserved to win the series. In fact, the last game 3 and game 4 results were in favor of the Knicks, but they beat the Pistons by a combined 3 points when traveling. Let’s not forget the game 4 ending where the Motor City fans’ wounds got reopened after the no-call report after the game. What do you think tonight holds? Drop your thoughts below!
