The friendship between NBA legend Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol is unlike any other. Their bond had grown even stronger as the dynamic duo sailed their way to the NBA championship twice. Their friendship also brought their families closer. Recently, both families were seen together in Barcelona, Spain for a special ceremony.
The tragic death of Kobe, his daughter Gianna Bryant and the seven others in a helicopter crash left the fans and their families heartbroken. So when Gasol’s daughter was born, he and his wife, Catherine Mcdonnell, decided to pay homage to the legend and his daughter. The couple decided ‘Gianna’ as their daughter’s middle name. Recently, little Elisabet got baptized and Vanessa was named as her godmother. She and her family were also present at the Baptism ceremony.

Pau Gasol’s sweet relationship with Kobe’s daughters
Two-times NBA champion Gasol bonded with Kobi’s daughters just like their father would have wanted. The Spanish player is the godfather of Kobe’s children and they share a great relationship with each other. The painful days and heartache after the NBA legend and his daughter’s death have brought the families much closer.
Before the unfortunate incident, the Black Mamba had asked his friend to teach things about culture to his daughters. And the player seems to fulfill his friend’s request for the girls with all his heart.

Shortly after the baptism ceremony, Vanessa posted a picture of herself with her daughter, Natalia Bryant, and the Lakers player. She also added a small clip of Gasol playing with her two daughters, Bianka and Capri Kobe. Three of them were enjoying their little friendly tussle.
There’s another video of Kobe’s lifetime friend’s sweet exchange with her daughters. At the end of the Jordan Rising Star Games, Gasol is seen holding Bianca and Capri in each arm. Unbothered by the surrounding cacophony, they seemed to be in their own world having fun. His relationship with his former teammates’ daughters is as precious as his friendship with the Lakers legend.

Both families are often spotted vacationing together. From birthdays to festivities, they are always seen celebrating it together. Recently Vanessa along with her daughters, went to Barcelona, Spain to attend Elisabet’s Baptism ceremony.
