As D’Angelo Russell‘s second stint with the Purple and Gold picks up steam, the 28-year-old guard recently touched on his rookie years in LA. After going 2nd overall to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2015, he had the chance to play alongside Kobe Bryant for 2 seasons. During an appearance on ‘The Backyard’ podcast, DLo shared a hilarious moment from the Black Mamba’s last NBA match.
“I think, honestly coz this sh*t’s so funny to me, is when Kobe’s last game, I was trying to get footage of it, like I was trying to record it on my phone… in the locker room,” Russel recollected. He further mentions that Bryant was celebrating and throwing champagne around and DLo wanted to capture that moment.
However, by the time he managed to unlock his phone, the celebration was almost done. “By the time he done sat up and by the time he done sat down and did all that, like it ain’t even popping no more… I’m sitting down, there was a picture of me like trying to unlock my phone….To me, that was one of my funniest,” admitted the 28-year-old NBA star.

Some less known NBA locker room stories
The first instance again includes Kobe Bryant himself. However, this incident that dates back to 2013 does not involve a humorous angle to it. It is said that this was an episode where Dwight Howard and Kobe almost threw hands each other after a confrontation. However, the two were stopped by the involvement of their teammates. Even a photo of them mimicking the fight was shared later on to get the things on a lighter note.

Another story of anger and frustration involves Amar’e Stoudemire’s burst-out after losing 2012 playoffs. Stoudemire was so frustrated losing top the Miami Heat that he punched a fire extinguisher enclosed in a glass in locker room. He even had to miss Game 3 of the series due to the injury that he sustained.
However, not all locker room stories are crazy because of their violent nature. Some involve players just fooling around. And the most expected player to do so would be none other than Dennis Rodman. Rodman’s ex-wife Carmen Electra had shared an instance where the ex-NBA star took her to the Bulls’ practice facility. Electra recollected it to be on an off day and revealed that her and Rodman got intimate at multiple spots of the facility.
