For emerging basketball talents, Kobe Bryant will always be the shining star for many. His expertise and prowess never ceased to captivate people. His knowledge seamlessly transcended the basketball court. Even the entertainment sphere stands in awe of him. The Black Mamba once bestowed career-changing advice upon famed music composer Kris Bowers, famous for his work on the Academy Award-nominated movie, King Richard, and the Netflix series Bridgerton.
In 2015, Bowers had the honor of collaborating with the Los Angeles Lakers icon. He composed the music for the documentary, Muse. Thanks to the 5x NBA champion, the composer was able to forge a deeper connection with his music. Bryant helped him to get comfortable with his sphere of expertise. Bowers mentioned acquiring the habit of diligent study from Kobe.
Speaking of the time spent working with Bryant, Bowers told Variety, “He was the one who talked to me about writing music from a personal place, imagining the scenario that I see on screen, how it relates to my personal experience, and writing from that emotion, and connecting those two things.”
