SAID SOMEONE DOING NOTHING AT ALL.” Like many who highlighted inconsistencies in Dr. Johnson’s contribution to society, Vanessa might have also aimed it at him. While her message wasn’t directed at anyone in particular, the quote is quite notable in this situation. She might not have made any direct statement; however, her message stands as a strong example that she isn’t going to be swayed by such accusations.

Johnson’s statement inspired a tidal wave of defense from netizens. Numerous celebrities and fans jumped onto their social media to defend the businesswoman and philanthropist. One of them is former NBA player and analyst Jamal Crawford. Taking to his Instagram story, he wrote, “Umar is tripping. VB does more for this and future generations than most. Whether you can see it or not, everything isn’t for cameras.” He added, “What I’ve learned in life is ‘those who do. those who don’t, take about those who do. Keep ‘doing.’”

Many supporters advocated for Vanessa’s right to use her money as she sees fit. Moreover, many stated how the 49-year-old has secretly made multiple contributions. Another fan also cited how countless children continue to benefit from the Mamba Foundation. In 2022, Vanessa also contributed the $16 million awarded in her lawsuit against Los Angeles County to the Mamba and Mambacita Foundation. The proceeds from Vanessa’s latest Mambacita clothing line are also donated to the Mambacita Foundation.
