NBA veteran Jamal Crawford recently had an opportunity to honor the legacy of the late great Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna. The 43-year-old was invited to Chicago by Vanessa Bryant to unveil a special basketball court. Recently, Vanessa thanked the NBA veteran for his contribution to the cause.

Vanessa has been diligent in keeping the legacy of her loved ones alive and she has done a tremendous job till now. She has partnered with several brands and athletes to raise awareness for the causes she believes in. Recently, she unveiled a basketball court in Chicago that will benefit local communities.

Kobe Bryant’s wife unveils a new basketball court

There is no question that Kobe’s legacy will forever remain relevant. The LA Lakers legend has left behind examples that will continue to make people strive for greatness. The 5x NBA champion was often considered to be the hardest worker in the room and his ‘Mamba Mentality’, an alter ego that he introduced inbetween his career was a testament to that. As per the late legend, he saw a lot of his qualities in his daughter Gianna and was actively coaching her to help her pursue the dream of becoming a professional basketball player.

Since January 2020, Vanessa has been working toward preserving and propagating the principles of Kobe that resonated with Gigi as well. “Play Gigi’s Way” is a slogan that has gained immense relevance in recent times and it stands for being fearless while chasing your dreams. Continuing with the same concept, Vanessa launched a new basketball court in Chicago in collaboration with Mamba and Mambacita Sports and Body Armor. The 43-year-old joined Vanessa in unveiling the special court and the event was attended by several young kids who wish to pursue basketball professionally.

Vanessa also does a lot of charity work with the motive to help provide necessary equipment etc to children across the country.

Vanessa Bryant recently remembered meeting Kobe Bryant for the first time

Vanessa and Kobe got married in 2001 and were blessed with four kids. Recently, Vanessa posted a picture with Kobe from their first meeting. She wrote “24 years ago…. Day 1”, remembering the special moment in their lives. Even Kobe had detailed meeting his wife for the first time on several occasions.

In a 2015 documentary, the late legend talked about meeting Vanessa during a two-day video shoot. “I would finish a take and then go to my trailer, but I’d wonder where she is the entire time and then come out of the trailer and just want to talk to her some more in between takes and stuff like that”, he said about meeting her for the first time.
