Kobe Bryant Made an Audacious Bet

Kobe and the Lakers played an intense game against the Brooklyn Nets at the Staples Center in 2012 in which the Lakers came away with a 95-90 win. Interestingly, the tail end of the game got a bit chirpy as the scores got a little close. Notably, Kobe had an interesting response when Nets star Gerald Wallace tried to get into his head.

With just 4.8 seconds left on the clock, Bryant was getting ready to shoot a free throw. The Lakers were in the lead and the five-time NBA champion’s free throw could seal the win for his team. This was when Wallace decided to make a move to knock Bryant off his routine.

With supreme confidence in his abilities, Bryant challenged the Nets Forward to a monetary bet. Due to insufficient evidence, there’s some speculation on whether the Hall of Famer bet $500k or not, but fans certainly like to think he did.
