“JUST IN: This rare Michael Jordan and LeBron James card just sold for $10 million.” A few hours ago, Fanatics uploaded an Instagram post announcing that a Michael Jordan x LeBron James 2006-07 Exquisite Dual Logoman Auto 1/1 became another card to fetch the 8-figure deal. Yes, it’s the same group that previously purchased the 2007–08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman Autographs of MJ and Kobe at a whopping $12.932 million, setting a record for a modern sports card.
The post from Fanatics continued, “It was purchased by @shyne150, @kevinolearytv, and Paul Warshaw, the same group that bought the MJ-Kobe Dual Logoman for $12.9 million. For years, this card has been one of the most talked-about missing pieces in the hobby, a true ghost. Now, it’s finally surfaced, marking the third highest sports card sale in history.” As stated, Jordan and Kobe take first place with $12.9 million.

Why did Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant Logoman fetch a record-breaking price?
As fate would have it, on Kobe Bryant’s birthday in August, the sale of the 2007–08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman Autographs card closed at a whopping $12.932 million, setting a record for a modern sports card. As far as cards go, this is on top.
However, regarding other sports memorabilia, this is only behind Babe Ruth’s 1932 World Series “called shot” jersey, which fetched $24.12 million last year!
This card is a true 1-of-1 centerpiece from the Exquisite era, widely regarded as a modern holy grail. Speaking about it, Heritage Auctions’ Director of Sports Auctions, Chris Ivy, called it “the finest modern basketball card in the world.”
He explained that while the card was always expected to break records, the auction pushed the final price into historic territory. Another thing that makes it special is that it’s just a PSA 6 out of 10 in terms of grading.

Naturally, a lower grade would fetch a lower price. But that wasn’t the case for Michael Jordan– Kobe Bryant one. “Grades matter as far as pricing goes for standard-issue cards, but this is a 1-of-1, so the grade is less important overall to how the card performed,” Ivy concluded. That’s why it created a unique place in memorabilia history.
