It’s a great time to be a Lakers fan! And Magic Johnson is certainly feeling it. The Lakers just clinched a stunning win over Kevin Durant’s Phoenix Suns, displaying an incredible comeback from a 22-point second-quarter deficit to secure a 123-116 victory. As a former Lakers player, the 5x NBA champion is thrilled to watch Anthony Davis deliver great performances. Equally exceptional were the Boys in Blue. As both an owner and a fan, the NBA legend has plenty of reasons to celebrate.

Before that, the 65-year-old took to social media to cheer for the star of the night. Bestowing the crown on Anthony Davis, Johnson praised his outstanding performance. “AD is off to an MVP-type season, scoring 35 points to lead the Lakers over the Suns!” Johnson wrote.
Apart from the Lakers, the Los Angeles Dodgers also clinched a win over the New York Yankees to take a 1-0 lead in the World Series. Thrilled at the double victory, Johnson continued, ” It was a great night for me – first a Dodgers win and then the Lakers! 👏🏾” It was a great time for Davis’ fans as well.

Not only Johnson, but the entire fanbase is in awe of the veteran’s performance. Since Kobe Bryant, Davis is the first Los Angeles Lakers star to score over 30 points in consecutive games to start the season and the first to notch 35 points in back-to-back games since Jerry West.

Despite Kevin Durant’s 30 points and Devin Booker’s 23, the Suns couldn’t do much to overcome the opponents. Reaves put up 26 points, while LeBron James contributed 21 points to seal the win over the Suns. However, there was a problem that bothered Johnson just a day prior.

Why the Dallas Mavericks Have Magic Johnson Worried About the West
The Dallas Mavericks were unstoppable in their matchup against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday. Klay Thompson was spectacular, scoring 22 points in the season opener for Dallas, while Luka Doncic led with 28 points. After their appearance in the NBA Finals last season, the team has grown even stronger with Thompson’s addition.
Reflecting on the Mavericks’ 120-109 win over the Spurs, Johnson issued a warning to the rest of the league. “Every team in the West should be worried about Dallas this season because the Mavs are built for the Playoffs,” Johnson wrote on X.

The Purple and Gold will need to maintain their consistency if they hope to overcome the Mavericks.
