Six hours and 39 minutes later, we’re here. Thanks to Freddie Freeman. The deciding game of the MLB World Series will have to compete with the most unforgettable Game 3 ever in the history of sports. 18 innings came to a close thanks to Freddie Freeman’s historic rally. He’s put the Dodgers at a 2-1 lead over the Toronto Blue Jays and brought co-owner, Magic Johnson, a step closer to his 16th championship ring. You can see why he’s overjoyed. Yet he’s not the only basketball guy thrilled by the baseman.

Magic Johnson was in the Dodger Stadium, probably itching to get on X.com for his post-game ritual. That’s why he didn’t stop at one tweet.

He first celebrated the 6-5 win by writing, “Freddie Freeman’s walk-off HR seals the victory in the 18th inning as my @dodgers win 6-5 against Toronto and now lead the Series 2-1!” He followed it up with a shoutout to the hero of the day, “Dodger Nation, Freddie Freeman does it again! Last year he had a walk-off HR in Game 1 against the New York Yankees! Freddie is simply amazing!”

Freeman hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the 18th inning that finally closed the longest Fall Classic contest ever. Like, benches were emptied on both teams, and they ran through the gamut of pitchers. In this unforgettable game, Freeman made history on his own as the first player with multiple walk-off home runs.

Magic’s favorite player on his team had his own historic feat. His homeruns tied with Frank Isbel’s 119-year-old major league record with four extra-base hits, became the first player in major league history to reach base eight times in one postseason game, breaking the previous record of six. He is also the first player to be intentionally walked four times in a postseason game, and a few others.

He deserved a separate shoutout from Johnson. “Shohei Ohtani hits two HRs in Game 3 against Toronto! Words just can’t explain how great he is!”

The pitchers deserved their own strips. Both teams burned through their pitchers. Funnily enough, Magic’s wife, Cookie Johnson’s reactions during the never-ending plays have gone viral. So the 5x champion had a special praise for them. “Dodger Nation, every single @dodgers relief pitcher was outstanding in Game 3 and helped to put us in position to win the game in the 18th inning against Toronto!”

But Freeman was still the superhero who had other NBA stars in a chokehold.

Freddie Freeman upsets Joel Embiid and Donovan Mitchell’s schedules

The 76ers are still keeping Joel Embiid on the sidelines till his knee recovers. That’s made him the target for fans’ frustrations. During this time, a cinematic game can supercharge anyone’s spirits. At least Embiid was doing the X equivalent of jumping on the couch and cheering.

“OMG LETS FREAKING GO!! Freddie,” he posted. Funnily enough, he was also writing, “I have a game tmw… let’s end this! LOL WHAT A GAME!!!! @MLB” as if he wasn’t ruled out against the game versus the Orlando Magic.

The game was still on when the Cavs took on the Pistons. By the time Donovan Mitchell scored 35 points and the Cavs won 95-116, the game was still going on long enough to catch the best parts. Mitchell was first asking, “This baseball game still goin on???” In the end, he was grateful for one person. “Thank you Freddie Freeman 😂” Question: Were the Cavs and Pistons just watching in the locker room?

James Harden had Monday off to watch the whole game. He’s on a compliment roll lately, but it was not a teammate who got him loud online. He summed up his reaction with,”🗣️ FREDDIE FREEEEEMAAAAAAN!” Only eloquence from The Beard.

The Dodgers and Blue Jays, though won’t have the time to go through the responses. They were beaten to say the least. Almost all were ready to sleep it off before they had to drag themselves out of the dugout for Game 4.
