Magic Johnson has two important events earmarked on December 21. And we know he’s a great multi-tasker. After celebrating his daughter’s birthday, Johnson hopped over to X to send a special message to one of his best friends. Samuel L. Jackson turned 75 today and his birthday wouldn’t be complete without his vacation buddy, Magic’s birthday wish. The Lakers legend shared their recent photographs together as well as a reflection of their mutual interests.

“A big happy birthday to my boy, one of my great fends, and someone I love, respect, and admire @SamuelLJackson! Between our annual Europe vacation and sports, we share the love of so many things like and the ability to learn and retain information. Happy birthday to my big bra!” Johnson wrote.

As Magic wrote, there’s a famous celebrity yachting clique consisting of Johnson, Jackson, Michael Jordan, LL Cool J, their spouses, and a few others who spend their summers in Europe. Just before he made his debut as a new NFL team co-owner, Magic and Cookie Johnson were seen in Capri, Italy with Samuel and LaTanya Jackson. Jimmy Kimmel is still bitter about being left out of this club.

More than just the high life, Johnson and Jackson also share interests in charity, business, and other fields. Both icons, as well as the latter’s wife, back the women-led studio, Statement Films. The trio raised $750,000 in a seed round for the startup in early 2023.

Yachting buddies weren’t the only ones on Magic’s mind today. Samuel Jackson may have been secondary, in fact.

Magic and Cookie’s youngest and only girl of three kids, Elisa Johnson, turned 29 on Thursday. Before wishing Jackson, Magic shared the sweet message to his wonderkid. “Watching you blossom into the woman and entrepreneur you are has been a father’s dream…” he wrote before adding a promise, “I will always be your security blankie.” 

The Los Angeles Lakers legend and his wife adopted Elisa when she was three days old. As an adult, she’d say she never felt out of place in the family. She’s now an entrepreneur, a reality star, and a passionate health advocate like her dad.

Elisa and her brothers, EJ and Andre are also often spotted on the European vacations with the Jordan and Jackson families. We imagine they’re just as close to Samuel and LaTanya as their parents. So a joint party perhaps?
