Charles Barkley wants some of Mark Cuban’s pie. While the billionaire Shark Tank investor is close to completing a sale in his Dallas franchise, Barkley is eyeballing the extra money in his friend’s bank account. Chuck used his platform to appeal to Cuban’s sense of family to get some of those perks.

Chuck’s friendship with the Mavs owner started over two decades ago. They have more than a handful of hilarious anecdotes together. So it’d be really funny if Cuban gave Barkley a few hundred million.

Charles Barkley reminds Mark Cuban about family

Sir Charles is carrying forward the Thanksgiving family spirit beyond the holiday. Family helps each other out, as Charles Barkley would like to remind Mark Cuban.

The billionaire is about to take an additional $3.5 billion to the bank after he sells his stake in the Dallas Mavericks to the Adelson family. Barkley sent him a message through TNT, “Mark, hook a brother up.” He’s not asking for much. A seventh of those billions would suffice.

He started with being happy for an old, very wealthy friend. “I’m glad Mark’s a friend of mine. Because I know I can get some of that $3.5 billion.” He’d later make a reasonable ask. “Just give me about five, six hundred million. We’ll be good.”

Candace Parker in the studio filling in for Shaquille O’Neal made a reasonable petition for $5. Ernie Johnson kept their expectations low saying, “The phone won’t be ringing anytime soon.”

Maybe if Barkley has an innovative business idea he can take to Shark Tank, he could get some of that moolah. Though he should know best, his friend is very strategic with his money.

Chuck and Mark have been bros for two decades

There’s a reason why Barkley has the liberty to ask half a billion from Mark Cuban. Three years after the tech entrepreneur bought the Mavericks for $285 million, he met The Round Mound of Rebound in the 2003 All-Star game. They were instant friends who bonded over drinking.

Barkley would appear on Shark Tank in 2018 where Cuban persuaded a couple of entrepreneurs to take a $250,000 offer from Chuck. It wasn’t just their friendship. A diehard Shark Tank viewer would know Cuban is always encouraging entrepreneurs to only accept a deal they deserve. They also went into a deal together for the Florida-based company, SubSafe.

The good friends and co-investors are thick as thieves together. But are they close enough for Cuban to give Barkley a generous Christmas gift? We and Chuck will have to wait for him to close the Mavs sale to find out.
