It’s all fun and games till Charles Barkley gets into the conspiracy business. A conspiracy peddler presented the Chuckster with a theory – LarCus is orchestrated. The mastermind plotter, his friend suggests, is Michael Jordan. The goal? To get under Scottie Pippen’s skin. Is it working? Chuck begs to differ.

Ahead of the Chicago Bulls Ring of Honor ceremony on January 12, Barkley called in to ESPN Chicago to talk about the Jordan-Pippen debacle. He’s not commented on Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan’s relationship in the past unless in passing to disparage Scottie. Now that he has, he went from 0 to 100.

The conspiracy theory was put forth by the radio show hosts that “Michael went nuclear” when Pippen was saying things like Jordan was a “horrible player” and “bad teammate” on his book tour. “I believe Larsa and Michael teamed up,” alleged the show’s host. “And that’s how you got the Larsa Pippen-Marcus Jordan relationship to really go and hurt Scottie.”

When asked if Barkley buys this conspiracy, he flatly stated, “Are you crazy? Are you out of your damn mind?” Barkley maintained neutrality over the background of Larsa and Marcus’ relationship. But he does say if this theory is true, “that takes his [Jordan’s] anger and bitterness to a whole ‘nother level.”

But, “If you think there’s a conspiracy, you’re just nuts. You’re flat-out nuts,” prescribed the 1993 NBA MVP.

This is not a new theory. Some denizens on cyberspace believe Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife deliberately dated Michael Jordan’s son for an ‘ah-hah’ moment. The former Bulls teammates’ friendship soured after The Last Dance in 2020, Larsa and Scottie finalized their divorce in 2021, she spent most of 2022 claiming she and Marcus were platonic, and LarCus made it Instagram official in January 2023.

The hosts couldn’t get this conspiracy to crack Chuck’s neutrality, but something else did.

Don’t give Charles Barkley TMI

There was that awkward moment on Watch What Happens Live this week when Larsa and Marcus made the explicit revelation that their bedroom activities exceed what she shared with Scottie during their 24-year marriage.

The ESPN hosts provided Barkley that information and he sounded like he was so done. “That’s TMI,” he said among things like “unnecessary and uncalled for.” He’s usually critical of Scottie for making it personal with MJ, but he felt Larsa went overboard.

“There’s no need to take shots at people… that’s just wrong on so many levels,” Charles Barkley said of the admission. He proceeded to make fun of the Real Housewives universe Larsa is a part of.

Despite his distaste for too much information, Sir Charles does rely on some information to tell fact from fiction. As such, the ‘Larcus’ conspiracy fell flat. Do you think the Jordan-Larsa coalition is real?
