For years now, former Indiana Hoosiers basketball star and current media personality, Dan Dakich boasted that he shut down UNC star Michael Jordan in the 1984 NCAA Tournament. In a recent interview with OutKick, Dan stole the spotlight again with the odd assumptions he made while discussing LarCus.

When the anchor asked about Jordan’s son dating his former teammate, Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife, Larsa, Dan said, That’s one of the oddest things I’ve seen.” Dakich was a coach of Bowling Green Falcons for 10 years, so he knew Marcus Jordan from before. He said, “I recruited Marcus and his other brother to try to come to Bowling Green.” But when he heard of LarCus, he felt that he was watching a movie. It was like adding unrelated things to the situation and we would know right then that it doesn’t fit and “that’s just too stupid.”

Marcus and Larsa’s age difference was of that kind. Dan further added, “… I remember Marcus as a skinny kid, trying to be a basketball player and at the same time, Larsa Pippen was running around with Scottie Pippen and they were the you know power couple of the world… I got to tell you that’s one of the weirdest things but good for him.”

MJ’s former rival was then asked whether the champ was a winner or loser in this peculiar situation. Dakich noted that the legend can have a winning attitude about this rather than taking it in as a loss. He mentioned this based on Jordan’s one-of-a-kind thought process. Dakich said, I would imagine Michael Jordan because Michael’s gonna say what you just said, ‘damn man your wife went from you to my son.'”

Holding Jordan to just 13 points, Dakich helped the Hoosiers upset the Tar Heels 72-68. Even though MJ had to stay on the bench due to foul trouble, Dakich did a great job on him. Interestingly, it proved to be MJ’s final college game before he went on to become a household name in the NBA.

Nonetheless, Dan‘s comments about the Larsa-Marcus relationship are quite bold. But what about the other side? Well, given Jordan’s previous comment and silence on the issue, it’s hard to assume the 6x NBA Champion’s opinion on it.

Does Michael Jordan have an issue with Marcus Jordan’s relationship with Larsa Pippen?

The couple has always mentioned that the Chicago Bulls icon has approved of their relationship or is most likely to approve of his son’s happiness. However, as noticed in an interaction in Paris, Jordan simply declared “No” to the question about approval of Marcus’s relationship. Soon, Marcus clarified to an embarrassed Larsa that the statement was only made as a joke. There have been no further statements from MJ.

He was absent from the Chicago Bulls Rings of Honor Ceremony as well. Just recently, when LarCus made headlines for their brief breakup, the first thought to cross people’s minds was an issue with MJ. However, the two reconciled, and during the ‘Reunion’ episode of Real Housewives of Miami, the couple was again asked the same question.

Even this time around, Marcus shifted the focus to his mother, emphasizing that he cares about whether his mother likes his girlfriend or not. What are your thoughts on the matter? Let us know in the comments section below.
