He posted a response on his social media, praising Durant for his choices and acknowledging the strength of the team. “hell of a team right here,” wrote Shaq while sharing. 

While it may have been bittersweet for Shaq not to find a spot in the starting 5, his gracious response only reaffirms his sportsmanship and respect for his fellow players in the basketball fraternity, especially after slamming KD some time ago.

Shaquille O’Neal’s personality has ensured that he remains a beloved figure long after his retirement from professional basketball. So, when dogs get mad what do they do?… Before we start throwing blows, we’ll be like what you trippin’ on? And I’m gonna put it to the side…but see I don’t tell cats what I’m doing…when I say something I’m not trying to get personal, because I know how to get personal.”

During an appearance on the podcast I AM ATHLETE last year, Shaq revealed that he intentionally targeted Kevin Durant & other players with his remarks, referring to them as “dogs”.
