Behold, Michael Jordan has made a rare appearance! It’s not often that we see the Chicago Bulls legend step in front of the camera and socialize. However, today was a seemingly special day. While you might assume the NBA legend suited up for the Hall of Fame event, you’d be wrong. The 6x NBA champ missed the event as he made his way to the Charlotte Speedway.

This year’s Hall of Fame event should have been particularly significant for the Bulls legend, as a very special member was being inducted into the 2024 class of the Hall of Fame. But it seems Jordan was more interested in meeting another person, Tyler Reddick. Redick is the racing driver for the 23XI Racing No. 45 Toyota, which is co-owned by Jordan and Denny Hamlin. The 28-year-old had a tough race at Charlotte Roval. Moreover, his car even got into a minor crash.

Reddick’s crash appeared to have caused some damage, and soon after, he reported issues with his car. Fortunately, he was able to recover and return to the track after some time. At that moment, it seemed he summoned the competitive spirit of Jordan. While we’re not entirely sure, Reddick clearly tapped into Jordan’s competitive drive.

He has now advanced to the Round of 8. Later; he was seen celebrating with Jordan. As soon as the Chicago Bulls legend joined him, Reddick embraced the veteran. The heroics of Reddick, along with the heartwarming pictures of him and Jordan, are getting a lot of love on social media.

Still, MJ fans may have expected to see Jordan at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

Michael Jordan’s favorite basketball player is getting inducted

While in high school, Jordan played basketball while watching NBA legend Walter Davis. When asked who would be the toughest player to battle in a one-on-one match, he named Davis. “To play against? Has to be Walter Davis. I played against Walter Davis in the summertime, and he’s been an outstanding basketball player,” Jordan said.

If you’re wondering why Jordan chose to attend the University of North Carolina, Davis was one of the key influences behind that decision. Jordan confirmed in one of his interviews. The 6x NBA All-Star played for three teams during his 14-year career.

Although Davis inspired him, Jordan’s game created a legacy of its own. It seems the NBA legend had to assume a leadership role in NASCAR before everything else. After all, Jordan idolized Walter Davis.
