Ever since LeBron James started establishing himself in the late 2000s, the comparisons between him and Michael Jordan have known no bounds. James even became the only player to breach the 40,000 points mark but, owing to MJ’s titles and accolades, many don’t consider him above the latter. Yet, according to Stephen A. Smith, LeBron might consider an opportunity that MJ would “never” do. An infamous opponent of the Chicago Bulls legend also happens to agree.

Ever since The Roast of Tom Brady Show was aired, people have been eagerly awaiting the next roast. As per reports, the show has garnered almost 14 million views, topping Netflix’s ‘most-watched’ list last week. Hosted by Kevin Hart, the show has seen some controversial moments, including Kim Kardashian’s recent unlikely receival by the audience, as celebrities have gathered to roast Tom Brady. In this mix, the appearance of the 61-year-old GOAT of the NBA is guaranteed anticipation. However, Stephen A. Smith is here to burst the bubble.

Smith, who recently appeared for the Disney 2024 upfront presentation, was asked about his pick for the next guest by AP Archive. Smith named The Burial actor, singer, and comedian, as the best guest. “I think Jamie Foxx would be a good one to roast because who knows what kind of ammunition he gives you,” certainly so, for he has been a doting part of  ‘Shaq’s All-Star Comedy roast.’

Later in terms of Sports celebrities, he said “In terms of a sports figure, I think it would be LeBron.” And when the reporter remarked Michael Jordan wouldn’t seem to fit the picture, Smith went, “No. He would never.”

Aaron Rodgers

No, because it’s easy… It’s like with Tom Brady I mean he’s the golden boy. With Aaron Rodgers, even though I love him, a lot of people don’t. And so because of that some people will find it funny. Some people would be intentionally cruel.

While the show has had good response in numbers, Brady too admitted the roast has been rather cruel. The NFL star realized so when he saw his kids offended through the roast. “So it’s the hardest part; the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and all of a sudden you realize ‘I wouldn’t do that again’ because of the way it affected, actually, the people I care about the most in the world,” Tom Brady told Fred Taylor on The Pivot Podcast.

Away from it, Brady has enjoyed roasts a good deal for himself, providing plenty entertainment. However, MJ doesn’t seem to be a part of it as another adds on to Stephen A. Smith’s assertion.

Why Michael Jordan won’t agree to a roast

During his recent appearance for The Dan Patrick Show, Miller was asked whether a roast show with the Bulls legend is possible. In response, Miller said, “Absolutely not there’s no way.”

Revealing the reason behind it, the 58-year-old said, “There’s more of a mystique about MJ… there’s no way for three hours people taking shots.” Indeed, there is a mystique about MJ. He or his wife Yvette Prieto mostly spend their time away from the camera. The only time they are captured is during public events which are very rare. So it is difficult to imagine why ‘His Airness’ would agree to a roast. Though he has made it to the CBC list on who should take the seat next alongside LeBron James. They believe it could settle the GOAT debate.

There could be a possibility where LeBron James agrees to a roast. The NBA champion was even on the list of odds to replicate the roast show. Considering he has still not decided on his next season endeavors, and with the Los Angeles Lakers struggling to find a new coach, we might be in for a treat with a lot of rumors and possibly backstage politics. Who knows we might also see a documentary ‘The Dynasty: New England Patriots’ featuring ‘King James’ similar to Tom Brady.
