It’s been a whirlwind of emotions for Jasmine Jordan this Thanksgiving. Just hours ago, Michael Jordan’s youngest daughter shared a glimpse of their festive dinner menu, but the holiday means much more than turkey and deviled eggs this year. Her son, Rakeem Michael, recently took another step in the outside world after a challenging surgery, giving the Jordan family a fresh reason to celebrate.

Jasmine, the daughter of Michael Jordan and Juanita Vanoy, turned to Instagram to share her gratitude. She posted a heartfelt message alongside a picture of herself with Rakeem, reflecting on the tough year they endured. “Thanksgiving 2024 • Mannn, I’m always thankful, but this one hits different! Last year, I was a ball of nerves prepping my son for surgery,” she wrote. Her emotional post didn’t stop there. She also revealed another layer of grief, recalling the loss of her beloved pet Mila the year before.

Now, though, Jasmine is embracing the joy she has been craving. “To come off of back-to-back stressful Thanksgivings, it feels amazing to be present, in my element, and surrounded by those I love the most,” she continued. Jasmine expressed her deep faith, adding, “God, you doing your big one — I’m grateful. Happy Thanksgiving, Y’all 🦃✨.” After such a rocky road, she’s finally soaking in the warmth of family and faith.

And it shows. Just a few hours ago, the 31-year-old gave her 210k Instagram followers a peek at her Thanksgiving feast. From Cajun boil to cornbread dressing and lamb chops, Jasmine brought energy and creativity to the table. She even documented the cooking process, ending with a table spread fit for royalty.

However, Jasmine’s favorite chef is none other than Rakeem himself, not literally. She shared images of her son on National Son’s Day and captioned the image, “Happy National Son Day with my Favorite Chef 💙 #MamasBoy.”

However, as she continues her Thanksgiving, let’s look at Rakeem’s new step in life that definitely puts a smile on grandpa MJ’s face.

Michael Jordan’s grandson is taking a new step

In 2019, Jasmine and her husband, Rakeem Christmas, welcomed their son, Rakeem Michael Christmas, into the world. And for the 6x NBA champ, it marked a new chapter—one that would soon see him embracing the joys of being a grandfather.

Back in 2020, Jasmine opened up about MJ’s surprising transition into his grandpa role during an interview with Andscape. “It took him a minute to actually understand like, ‘Dang, I’m a grandpa,’” she shared. According to her, MJ initially hesitated because he never wanted to feel old. But over time, he grew into the role with excitement. “He loves playing with his grandson, and it’s something that I think he never knew he was gonna love as much as he does,” Jasmine added.

Now, little Rakeem is stepping into a new phase. He recently graduated from preschool and officially started kindergarten. Jasmine proudly shared snapshots of her son in his graduation robe and another of his first day at school.

In her heartfelt message, Jasmine wrote, “This guy right here🥹… Kindergarten 🍎📚.. we in here!! I’m so proud of you, son. You amaze me every single day… Aim high, my baby 🚀.”
