More than a year after a viral DUI arrest, Marcus Jordan has officially closed the chapter on his legal battle. However, settling the case required more than fines and community service, as one unusual condition stood out.

According to TMZ, the 35-year-old has completed every term of his pretrial agreement stemming from his February 2025 arrest, including a formal written apology to the arresting officer. With those conditions met, the court is now set to vacate the charges.

The case dates back to February 2025, when police followed Marcus Jordan’s Lamborghini after it veered off the road and got stuck on train tracks. Bodycam footage showed officers identifying clear signs of impairment, and authorities later reported that he was in possession of a white powdery substance that tested as ketamine.

But the most viral aspect of his arrest was him repeatedly shouting, “I’m Michael Jordan’s son.” He was released within hours of his arrest but facing DUI charges.

His lawyers negotiated a pretrial agreement that allowed him to avoid trial, but it came with several conditions. Jordan was required to pay a $1,000 fine, complete 50 hours of community service, install an ignition interlock device, and undergo random drug testing. However, the most unusual requirement was a formal apology letter to the responding officer for his conduct during the arrest.

Marcus spent the year completing every requirement while also documenting his sobriety journey on social media. At one point, he revealed that he nearly slipped during a difficult stretch in July 2025 following the deaths of Ozzy Osbourne and Hulk Hogan, both of whom he considered personal idols.

With those conditions now fulfilled, the court is set to vacate the charges, bringing an end to a year-long legal distraction for the NBA scion.

Marcus Jordan’s legal win coincides with Larsa Pippen’s near-scare

While Marcus was closing this chapter, his ex Larsa Pippen was dealing with her own issues. His low-profile life changed when he began dating Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife, pushing him into the spotlight through appearances on Real Housewives of Miami. He’d go on to appear on her show, Real Housewives of Miami where his comments on the reunion led to their breakup. They almost reconciled and broke up for good then.

Marcus’ partying ways no longer slipped under the radar then. Pictures emerged of him apparently using substances on a European trip. In season 7 of RHOM, those pictures would become a contentious point between Larsa and her co-star, Lisa Hochstein. She’d also reveal that Marcus used to send her threats of harming her family.

The exes’ lives completely diverged after Marcus’ arrest, with Larsa moving on and beginning a relationship with Jeff Coby. However, their fortunes have continued to run in parallel. While Marcus gets to celebrate a legal win and his sobriety milestone, Larsa has to protect her home.

Her new Miami home was the target of a failed break-in on March 29 when she was not home. Security cameras captured the suspects attempting to break in but failing to gain entry. The home’s advanced security system prevented any intrusion, and police later arrested the individuals involved. But she’s now adding armed security to her safety repertoire.

To add to her woes, her show, RHOM has been put on indefinite hold due to low ratings. Her relationship with Marcus was once the lightning rod for the Bravo series. But the latest developments in Marcus and Larsa’s lives continue to play out like a reality series that never fully made it on screen.
