He learned the trade in the 1980s and even performed alongside Steve Aoki, Diplo, DJ Carnage, Von Miller, etc. Shaquille O’Neal has truly leveled up as a DJ, and it is especially visible in this year’s tours. DJ Diesel and his son Myles are the first father-and-son duo to perform at fests. Turns out it’s not just the fans that admire him. He even received a small surprise from another DJ. Literally!

On his YouTube channel, DJ Eliminate uploaded a vlog of his performance alongside Shaq. But he had one other goal in mind. “I have one goal this whole weekend and that is to get Shaquille O’Neal to hold the world’s smallest bop it.” And after the performance, he did achieve it despite a few hiccups.

I mean Shaq holding the world’s smallest bop it. Come on that’s objectively funny like he’s so big and it’s so small. Do I even have to explain this?

Nathan Merrill aka DJ Eliminate, uploaded captions on his video to explain his excitement to hand over bop it to Shaquille O’Neal. Yes, the classic game of Bop It, Twist It, Pull It in miniature size. On Amazon, it costs $15.99, and Eliminate carries it around to try the practical joke with the Lakers legend. However, he wanted to capture the video of the entire moment, yet it failed.

After the set, I got the opportunity I had been waiting all weekend for. I was going to have Shaq hold the tiny bop it. An achievement like no other. However, just as I handed my phone to be filmed, the person filming it stopped recording. All footage of the encounter was lost.

Once again Merrill used the caption to explain his pain, but fortunately, he got a couple of photos, which he used in the video. “I did however get 2 pictures for the proof that it did in fact, happen.” Despite the failed footage, it was an important day for Merrill. As for Shaq’s DJ career, he is also making quite a name for himself.

Shaquille O’Neal’s DJ tour continues to be a success

Before showing the toy to Shaquille O’Neal, Eliminate captured the reaction of another headliner on that day NGHTMRE: “Damn.” Interestingly, it was his birthday, at least the video title suggests that. ‘DJing With Shaq On My Birthday‘, currently has more than 15,000 views.

Apart from DJ Diesel, NIGHTMR, Eliminate, and emerging EDM talent, Celo took center stage. The outdoor event at KEMBA Live was organized by Haunted Fest and continued Shaq’s tour. As per the Columbus Dispatch, the tickets for the show were in two tiers. A general admission ticket for the fest started at $54.99, and the VIP ticket package was for $89.99.

In context, Shaquille O’Neal bought his first set for $200. And for that, the 4x NBA Champion had to cut grass and walk dogs. After all, he was fixated on his goals after watching Public Enemy Live. So from starting with just one, two hundred dollar instrument to selling out multiple venues, Shaq has come a long way. And for his dubstep journey to continue the legacy, he has got none other than his son, Myles.
