Months After Getting Honored Alongside Kobe Bryant, WNBA Star Spends Her Anniversary With Vanessa Bryant

Kobe Bryant has influenced a whole generation of players. Sabrina Ionescu was one of the few who were directly mentored by the Los Angeles Lakers legend before his passing. This led to Ionescu getting close to the Bryant family. Along with knowledge about the game and businesses off the court, the 2x All-Star became good friends with Vanessa Bryant and her kids.

In January 2023, Sabrina Ionescu’s longtime boyfriend, Hroniss Grasu, who plays in the NFL, proposed to the WNBA superstar. The two recently celebrated their one-year anniversary of getting engaged. And Vanessa Braynt was also invited.

Vanessa Bryant joined Ionescu in her celebration, and the two even posted a video of playing beer pong as a team on Instagram. The two were clearly leading, as they just had to make three more while their opponents had the entire stack left.

The 26-year-old has learned a lot from Vanessa and Kobe. She has built a strong relationship with Vanessa over the years. Vanessa was one of the first ones to congratulate the WNBA star when she got engaged a year ago. Ionescu has even gone on vacations with the Bryant family and has also been spotted dancing with the kids.

However, her fame recently earned her the honor of being featured alongside Kobe Bryant in NBA 2K.

In the 2K24, the 25th anniversary edition, Kobe Bryant was the cover athlete. At the same time, for the WNBA edition, it was Sabrina Ionescu who graced the cover in her New York Liberty jersey.
