After serving a three season stint with the Jackson State Tigers, Deion Sanders joined the Colorado Buffaloes. Yesterday’s match was the debut test for the two-time Super Bowl champion to see just how far his team has come. Fans of college football were watching with anticipation as the Buffaloes faced off against their opponents: The Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs.

Prime didn’t disappoint and were able to secure a win with a 45-42 score. “Thank you, Jesus. I’m so thankful right now,” Sanders said in the aftermath of the match.

The shocking news not only made waves in the NFL world but also in the world of the NBA. A few hours ago, Dwyane Wade took to his official Twitter/X  handle to share a tweet with his 9.4 Million followers.

Sharing his excitement over the Buffaloes’ win, Wade captioned the tweet “PRIME!!! SANDERS— HUNTER— SANDERS—EDWARDS!! @CUBuffsFootball We got a team to root for” accompanied by a few fire emojis.

The Miami Heat icon himself is coming off a fresh honor, having been recently inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

Wade wasn’t the only one who joined in on the festivities. Former Lakers legend Magic Johnson also took to Twitter to share his reaction. Along with congratulations for Deion Sanders, Johnson also took a moment to highlight the NFL star’s son, QB Shedeur Sanders, who recently broke “the school record for over 500 passing yards!”

Johnson remarked that “The great ones always win!” encapsulating his feeling towards the sport. However, D-Wade was not always big on football.

Dwyane has a high regard for one of the greatest people to come out of the NFL. His feelings towards the league and the sport, however, weren’t always the same. Back in November 2016, Wade sat down for an interview on the ‘Dan Patrick Show’.

During the same, the three time NBA champion was asked about his opinion on NBA players playing football in a potential scenario. Wade expressed his opinion that a lot of basketball players could be good at football since “it’s not a talent thing.

“A lot of football player that aren’t super talented could play on this course as well,” said Wade during the interview.
