Shaquille O’Neal and Stephen Curry teaming up? Not something we imagined we’d see. Both NBA icons are known for the historic feats they have achieved in their basketball careers. But who raised them to be NBA legends? Shaq’s mother, Lucille O’Neal, teamed up with Steph’s mom, Sonya Curry, for a new show that will spotlight the efforts of mothers raising their kids who go on to dominate the world. The two mothers visited the TODAY set to promote their show. During this, the network surprised them with a clip featuring their sons.

The Golden State Warriors star first congratulated the two while sharing a few words about how lucky he is to have his mother by his side. “Hi, Ma. I just want to say congratulations on the new show. Just want to say thank you for all that you have done for me, Seth, Sydel and our whole family. You know, your place as our mom, now grandma. We’re forever grateful for your influence in our lives. Just want to say we love you,” Curry said as per TODAY’s clip. The ever-charming Shaquille O’Neal one-upped Chef.

“Good morning, Mommy. Thank you for being a loving, super fabulous, intelligent, beautiful, and positive role model in the lives of not just me, but our entire family. I can’t say thank you enough, so I’m going to say it five times in a row: thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you… Hi, Mrs. Curry. Love you, too!” the Los Angeles Lakers legend added. These messages made Lucille and Sonya so happy that they couldn’t stop smiling.

I just love ’em,” Sonya said after the host asked about what she thought about them. Lucille, meanwhile, added, “I keep telling Shaquille something, I say, ‘Your mama’s not a saint.’ He keeps saying, ‘You’re fab,’ and all this. Well, your mama’s not a saint.

Mrs. Curry was previously in the teaching profession and is certainly able to contribute immensely to her new show with Ms. Lucille, who considers education above all. Raising Fame is all about how celebrity parents dealt with their kids before they became renowned.

Raising Fame raises the game

“I want people, that watch the show, to realize that parenting, first of all, does not come with any instructions. We believe that when you see the gift in your child, we should nurture the gift that we see,” Mrs. O’Neal said during the interview. Steph had his siblings Seth and Sydel by his side, while O’Neal grew up with Lateefah, Jamal, and Ayesha, who sadly passed away in 2019.

The show will see the supermoms join other celebrities and their parents for a meal and candid conversation as they share their own experiences.
