Another day of Shaquille O’Neal flexing his ‘hidden’ talent. This time the giant virtuoso is channeling Vivaldi as he stares into our souls through an Instagram post. Previously, he stopped at lip-syncing to unplugged R&B songs and standard TikTok scenes. This time he’s going a step further into classical territory.

The reactions are greater than when Shaq pretended to be a soulful R&B crooner. The greater flex is where he finds a perfectly sized delicate instrument to fit his 7’1″ frame.

Mozart, Bach, and Vivaldi would be rolling over now that a bigger player is walking the earth. Shaquille O’Neal is keeping up his social media comedy spree with a new post. And he’s packed with a violin.

Shaq knighted himself as the “Big black maestro” to complement his piercing glare in his strings performance. Instead of Baroque, he’s keeping it casual in sweats but holding a violin on his shoulder in great form. Funny zoom-ins into his unblinking gaze complete the haunting maestro aesthetic.

Of all the scenarios Shaq with a violin can conjure, no one expected the violin and its bow to look normal-sized in a hand-span that’s said to be an entire 12 inches in Shaq-lore. There’s a sinking suspicion that’s even a massive cello or bass. After all the original music Maestro Diesel is strumming to is of star cellist, Mike Block. That’s his rendition of “Boccherini Minuet No. 6“.

He’s flexed his Grammy-grade vocals, his British accent that could put Idris Elba out of business, and even resorted to some lip-synching to threaten Charles Barkley. But it’s the Shaq-sized violin that blew all his ‘talents’ out of the water.

A couple of commenters under the post believe they solved the mystery of the ‘violin’. “What’s crazy is that’s really a cello,” one wrote. Though Shaq would love to be the Big Black Maestro, fans had even better titles for him. “Giant fiddler on the roof,” suits him best. Some kept it simple with, “Musical genius.”

Every artist has that one critic. As one commenter put it, “I’m coming to take your phone bug cuz lol.” But the big man is getting high praise from the pros.

Opera superstar, Babatunde Akinboboye, complimented the new form Shaq invented in one Reel. “who showed you how to hold a violin? You might’ve started something new,” he wrote. Another violinist, Michael Fisher offered lessons while professional violinist, Nikki Choi, offered, “How about a collab.”
