NBA Veteran Honors Moses Malone With Nostalgic Tribute Amid Kevin Durant’s Historic Feat

Moses Malone is one of the best players in NBA history. But many often overlooked his impact on the game. Recently, Malone became a talking point, as Kevin Durant surpassed him to get to the 10th spot on the all-time scoring list. As the NBA world remembered the dominance of Moses Malone, his former teammate shared a heartwarming tribute for the 76ers legend.

Muggsy Bogues recently showed his love and appreciation for his Washington Bullets teammate on social media, as the NBA world was recently abuzz about the big man because of Kevin Durant.

Malone was a great mentor for Muggsy Bogues

The Washington Bullets drafted Muggsy Bogues in 1987. As the Charlotte Hornets became a part of the NBA in 1988, Bougues was one player that the Hornets drafted from the Bullets, later named the Washington Wizards in 1988.

But during his one season with the Bullets, Bogues played with NBA legend Moses Malone. Malone was one of the best players of the generation and was even part of the NBA 75th anniversary team.

Recently, Bogues shared an image on social media of him and Moses Malone from 1987. Bogues wrote in the post. “Miss the big fella🙏🏽“. Malone passed away in 2015 at the age of 60.

 

Muggsy considered Moses Malone to be a great mentor, and he learned valuable lessons from Malone that helped Bogues survive in the NBA for 13 years. But Moses remains extremely underrated as a player. His name is rarely brought up when talking about the greatest players.

Malone was in the 10th spot on the all-time scoring list. He had scored 27409 points during his 21-year career. But recently, Kevin Durant passed him and pushed Malone to the 11th spot. During his time in the NBA, the 76ers legend averaged 20.3 PPG and 12.3 RPG.

Malone is an NBA champion and a 13-time all-star. He is without a doubt one of the greatest players in the history of the sport, but he is often overlooked in NBA rankings as he played for multiple teams during his time.
