Caitlin Clark Leaves Kevin Garnett Stuttering After Epic Comeback Against UConn

The Final Four faceoff between Iowa and UConn was a nail-biter. After a slow first half, Iowa got a 70-66 spurt. A big part was thanks to the biggest superstar of women’s college basketball, Caitlin Clark. She rightfully drew eyeballs to this game and stole the attention with an impressive 20 points by the fourth quarter. Kevin Garnett was one of the many awed by her fantastic play. He speaks on behalf of everyone when he struggled to make a coherent sentence on X.
“Caitlin… Lord… face guard, double teams. Whatever..” he wrote very eloquently. But that’s the Caitlin Clark impact. The Hawkeyes are going to see the Gamecocks in the Final after beating the Huskies 71-69. Clark ended the game with 21 points with a second consecutive shot at winning the title that has eluded her in her collegiate career. She’s the projected No. 1 pick since declaring for the WNBA Draft and a title won’t change it. But she’s going to make it a thrilling game against Kamilla Cardoso, nonetheless.

The shorthanded Huskies led by Paige Bueckers also ended this Final Four run remarkably. But fans can’t help but be disappointed by the end of the game. A “terrible call,” as fans have dubbed it, ended the Huskies’ very close bid for the title game. KG usually has things to say about it but he hasn’t commented on it yet.

Trae Young called Clark “unguardable.” Magic Johnson was left impressed by not just Clark, but also her teammate Hannah Stuelke, who dropped 23 points tonight. Like many others, The Big Ticket firmly believes Clark is going to take women’s basketball to new heights.
On the Ticket & The Truth podcast, he told his fellow Celtics icon, Paul Pierce, that Clark deserves a sizable salary when she makes her professional debut. And he thinks it’s pure talent and not titles that make her that. “She got arguably the most momentum of any athlete right now. She’s the hottest athlete of anything bro real s*t and she ain’t even won that s*t.”

Even if Pierce didn’t agree, Garnett stood by his claims. He’s always demanding respect for the game-changer Clark is. Even when she chose to keep the game going after making her scoring record, Garnett slammed the NCAA for not acknowledging her record during the game. Clark is playing against South Carolina in the title game next. And we know who KG is rooting for.
