The start of the 2023-24 NFL season has fans hyped all around the world. It started with a banger as the Detroit Lions shocked the Kansas City Chiefs and spoiled their banner day. The exhilaration continued in the next few games as well, which has made the fans want more. However, NBA legend Charles Barkley is not much invested in an upcoming matchup. Interestingly, Barkley once made huge profits betting on an NFL team.

Ahead of the season, Barkley revealed his favorites for this year. Notably, Barkley stated that he likes the chances of the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots. This was surprising to many as it was after the Falcons’ crushing 0-24 defeat against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the preseason.

Charles Barkley’s swipe at two NFL teams

Charles Barkley is known for his hilarious comments and antics as an analyst. The Hall of Famer lived up to this reputation once again while talking about the upcoming NFL games. Barkley is a huge football fan, but that didn’t stop him from making fun of the game between the Arizona Cardinals and the New York Giants.

During a recent appearance on a show, Barkley was asked about his opinion about the face-off between the two teams. He then proceeded to hilariously throw shade at the two franchises.

When asked about the game, Chuck said, “That’s like two ugly girls fighting. Nobody care who wins! That’s going to be a pillow party!”?The hosts burst out laughing as soon as they heard Barkley’s comments and could not stop.

Notably, both the Giants and the Cardinals lost their season openers. While the Cardinals lost 20-16 to the Washington Commanders, the Giants were humiliated 40-0 by the Dallas Cowboys. So it will be interesting to see if the Giants could bounce back in their next game.

Charles Barkley once won a major bet

Charles Barkley spent his early years in the NBA for the Philadelphia 76ers. This was when Barkley became a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. Interestingly, his favorite team helped him make huge money as well. In 2018, the Eagles made the Super Bowl and were looking to win their first-ever championship against the dominant New England Patriots.

Barkley bet on the Eagles to win the Super Bowl and apparently racked up a huge amount when they lifted the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Even though he did not disclose the exact number of his winnings, Chuck revealed what he bought from the proceeds.
