Michael Jordan wants to know: Barkley’s strange swing

MJ, Charles Barkley, and Oprah Winfrey were having a lively talk about basketball. But as an avid golfer, Jordan couldn’t help but bring up Barkley’s infamous swing. He was so intrigued by the unorthodox swing that he even asked Oprah whether she had ever seen it in action. “Have you seen him swing?” asked Jordan to the talk show host.

With a touch of modesty, Barkley recognized that he had a problem with his swing. He even went so far as to say that he had developed the yips, a condition that hindered his golfing ability.

I got a problem with my swing, I developed the yips,” said Barkley in response. Yips is a condition known to cause wrist spasms.

Barkley also admitted that Jordan no longer wanted to play with him because of his comical swing. Reacting to this Jordan simply said, “It’s sad.” 

Jordan jokingly said “No no please,” when Oprah told the audience that she has a clip of Barkley’s swing. Perhaps to the dismay of both Jordan and Barkley, Oprah couldn’t resist adding to the entertainment value by playing the tape.

Barkley is committed to improving his golf skills
