LeBron James fawns over nephew

Carmelo Anthony is going through a major phase in any parent’s life. His and Lala Anthony’s son, Kiyan Anthony, is on the college path, poised as a four-star recruit in the 2025 class. Until then, he’s doing college tours with his parents and testing out his future team.

His most recent stop has the NBA world excited. Kiyan was at Syracuse University. It’s special because his 10x All-Star dad, Carmelo Anthony, is an alumnus. Even the 16-year-old had to flaunt the visit.

Wearing the recognizable Syracuse Orange jerseys, Kiyan posted pictures of his visit on social media. “carry the torch?#officialvisit,” he captioned on Instagram with a cheeky orange emoji. Even Lala was wearing the same jersey to match her son.

Melo was wearing his own No.15 jersey, which he wore during the 2002-03 season in college. He led the team to NCAA Tournament victory in his freshman season. His son couldn’t skip the opportunity to pose with his dad’s trophy and perhaps hint at winning one of those on his own too.

Fans were already going crazy over this dad-son twinning moment. Someone else hit with the feels is LeBron James. He shared Kiyan’s post on his Instagram Stories in celebration. He didn’t add a caption to it, but you could feel the pride it exuded from the moment he hit post.

LeBron and Carmelo’s friendship is one for the books. Before they even arrived in the league, their careers were intertwined. Similarly, their children are like brothers who are also intertwined. While LeBron is also preparing to send another son to college, he’s watching his nephews too.

Fans echo LeBron James’ sentiments

LeBron’s younger son, Bryce James is also heading for college. The father-son duo were touring Ohio State and even tried on Buckeye uniforms. Kiyan was also in Florida recently with his parents, trying out if FSU is a fit for him. He’s fielding offers from the best basketball programs in the country. James is showering as much love as he is for his own kids.

But seeing Kiyan rocking his dad’s college colours is a whole other feeling. Other than LeBron, Kiyan’s ride-or-die, Bryce was lurking in the comments with a simple, “I like this.” Kiyan’s mom, Lala was in the pictures but she had to add a, “Surreal,” in the comments to express her feelings.

Syracuse alum and former NBA pro, Chris McCullough wrote, “You know where you belong, your pops told me the same thing when i was your age.”

You gotta carry the torch,” one Instagram user said in response to his caption. Another tried to incite Kiyan into picking Orange with, “Melo jersey fits this time this definitely the one and done.”

Lil bro this the one that makes the most sense…,” one fan summarized the feelings after seeing Melo and Kiyan twinning. Others are hinting at getting their Syracuse season tickets. “If you do I’m at the first home game!”
