We thought Shaq was getting dissy in the last couple of weeks. Turns out he’s just like us when we comes across something hilarious on his feed. Shaquille O’Neal happens to have 34 million Instagram followers which makes even his re-shares go viral. On The Big Podcast this week, Shaq clarified he didn’t seemingly take a shot at Rudy Gobert or pick sides between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, no matter what everyone thinks. He might even sound a little upset at the misconception.

Why every time somebody does something and I get it and post it on my story you think it’s me? I’m not f***ing with Rudy Gobert,” Shaq genuinely asked Adam Lefkoe to answer on behalf of fans. He’s referring to that moment a week ago, right after France’s opening game in the Olympics. Gobert was not productive enough in France’s win apart from getting posterized by Brazil’s Maozinha Pereira which Shaq found ridiculous.

On TNT, O’Neal’s taunted Gobert plenty. So it seemed like a continuation of that when he shared a meme on his Instagram Story where Gobert’s face was photoshopped on a Walmart employee. The punchline was, “Rudy Gobert if he wasn’t 7’1.”

On a previous episode, O’Neal said the 4x DPOY was overpaid and not a good defensive player. But this meme was not it. Even Lefkoe said that he had seen the meme a dozen times before Shaq shared it. Lefkoe too was surprised that the meme was attributed to O’Neal. He even imagined Shaq photoshopping Gobert on a meme while on a flight to one of his shows.

Shaq said it had to do with his social media methods. The content he puts on your timeline is 30% inspirational, 10% business, and the rest 60% is to entertain by borrowing funny posts. “If I see something funny, I’mma forward it. I got 34 million followers. If I can make you know a half, one-third, or one-fourth laugh…” Shaq calls it a day.

That’s how he pleaded innocence in another ‘diss’ too. “People, it ain’t me. I take stuff and that’s what happened with the Drake.” Now that’s a whole other story.

Shaq apologised to Drake for diss

A month ago Big Diesel turned into a Big Troll when he shared a comical snap of himself and a two-piece-clad Drake on his Stories to the tune of BBL Drizzy. That was obviously photoshopped, – by someone else, not Shaq – and it was hilarious. But the addition of Metro Boomin’s diss track on Drake is what made everyone assume the athlete-rapper’s side in the biggest rap feud of this era.

The thing is, Drake is in Shaq’s big social circle, as are Rick Ross and Kendrick Lamar. So in the immediate episode of The Big Podcast, O’Neal quickly clarified that he forgot a step while sharing the meme. “Let me apologize real quick. I sent out a picture the other day. The mistake I made was not saying, ‘Who did this?’ I want Drake to know that Drake has a great sense of humor. I thought it was funny that they did it. I saw people saying, ‘Shaq’s trolling.’ I am not trolling; I didn’t photoshop it; someone else did that.”

The misconception repeated with Rudy Gobert. So Shaq would like you to know that if he’s really dissing, you’d know.
