It’s been four years since the Flash retired from the NBA. During his time off the court, Dwyane Wade has gone on to build a Chinese shoe empire. The 3-time NBA champion signed with Li-Ning in 2012 and has been their biggest ambassador since. Li-Ning and Wade have always had a strong relationship, and he has single-handedly carried their brand forward to being one of the staples in budget basketball shoes.

Wade recently took a trip to China for the release of his latest shoes in the ‘Way of Wade’ line.

Dwyane Wade displayed his skills in martial arts

Earlier this week, The Flash arrived in China for the 2023 Li-Ning Tour. In a video that surfaced today, Dwyane was seen demonstrating his martial arts skills in front of his fans. The people were impressed to see the Miami Heat?legend perform Chinese kung fu.

This was not an issue for Dwyane Wade, who has been taking martial arts lessons since 2011.

Wade’s stardom in China cannot be explained better than by his wife, Gabrielle Union.

In an episode of The Ellen Show, she said that “he?s like Justin Beiber in China. I was not prepared for this“.?These comments came from her when she talked about accompanying Dwyane to China.

Dwyane Wade left the Jordan brand in 2012. He then signed with the Chinese shoe company Li-Ning. Dwyane released his signature ‘Way of Wade‘ shoes later on, and the success he garnered from them made Li-Ning give him a lifetime deal in 2018.

He has been the face of the brand since his departure from Jumpman. The success seen by Wade and Li-Ning is a testimony to what a star player with a large fan base can accomplish. He is definitely an example for future stars to not always stick with the big brands and to go their own ways.
