Shaquille O’Neal‘s eldest child caught up in the wild energy at Brandon Jennings’ birthday party at the right time. The former NBA star shares a rather unusual bond with the O’Neal family. The O’Neal kids are particularly fond of Jennings, as is their mother, Shaunie Henderson. She seems to be a close friend of the Mr. Basketball USA. However, one member of the O’Neal family harshly criticized the NBA star, but that didn’t stop the rest from showing their love.

Jennings’ birthday parties are always memorable. Who could forget when he was punched by rapper The Game on his 24th birthday? On his 29th birthday, Jennings and Gilbert Arenas’ crew had their faces smeared with cake. Myles O’Neal, who attended the party, shared the chaos on his Instagram story.

Myles’ story captured the moment when Jennings blew out his birthday candles and tossed the cake, creating absolute mayhem. Another clip showed former NBA player Nick Young with cake all over his face. The camera then panned to Gilbert Arenas, who was also covered in cake. Arenas’ fiancée, Melli Monaco, was also at the party.

Shaquille O’Neal’s ex-wife, Shaunie couldn’t make it to the event, but she sent a heartfelt birthday message to the former Detroit Pistons player. She posted a picture of her and Jennings having a seemingly serious discussion and humorously captioned it, “Me explaining to him once again that he will NEVER out-dance me!” She then added, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY.”

While we are not sure, Jennings and O’Neal might not be on good terms.

Shaquille O’Neal criticized Brandon Jennings for his lack of rings

This tension may stem from the verbal tussle both NBA players had in 2017. Jennings criticized NBA legend Paul Pierce for his farewell tour that year. He argued that Pierce shouldn’t have one since he had won only one championship. He expressed these views on X, which did not sit well with Shaquille O’Neal, who famously gave Pierce the ‘The Truth’ moniker.

Not only O’Neal but also a significant number of fans and netizens took issue with Jennings’ comment. In response, O’Neal defended his former rival, Pierce, while criticizing Jennings for not understanding how to play. When can a player that doesn’t have game talk about a player that does have game? A guy (Jennings) that can’t play talking about a guy than can play,” O’Neal wrote on his X.

Interestingly, O’Neal’s son, Shareef, once teamed up with Jennings for a game, Drew League debut. The McDonald’s All-American might have had a rocky relationship with the Los Angeles Lakers legend but he seems to have a great bond with his family.
