Remembering this event from six years back, ESPN posted the moment of Kobe Bryant entering the entertainment world with a bang on their official Instagram page. The carousel also has the acceptance speech by him about how he felt. In his words, “I feel better than winning a championship.” He continued, “As a kid, I dreamt of winning championships and working really hard to make that dream come true. But then to have something like this seemingly come out of left field.”

He swayed away telling a humorous story, “When they saw me writing, they would ask me, ‘What are you going to do when you retire?’ and I’d say ‘I want to be a storyteller’ and I would get a lot of ‘That’s cute. You’ll be depressed when your career is over. You’ll come back and play.'” Before appreciating his wife Vanessa and his kids, Kobe added, “To be here and get a sense of validation, is crazy. Dude, it is crazy.”

Another reaction was, “We miss you Kobe, bro was so good and talented that it transcended sports and got all the way up to the Oscar’s.” A fan wrote, “He was really blazing a new trail before he died with all his new ventures.
