Shaquille O’Neal’s love for the Tesla Cybertruck is no secret, and now, he has not one, not two, but three of these beasts in his collection. His latest ride? A jaw-dropping burgundy Cybertruck, gifted by Effortless Motors back in October. Price? Over $80k. This one-of-a-kind surprise came packed with a rare 1/100 Waido wide-body 360 kit and 26-inch Forgiatos. Even Elon Musk himself couldn’t resist commenting “Nice” on Shaq’s first custom truck. But here’s the twist: O’Neal recently declared he doesn’t accept gifts. So, does this Cybertruck break his own rule?

Just last week, Shaq opened up in an interview with People about his long-standing policy of refusing gifts. Chatting about his new Pepsi Zero Sugar Gingerbread Mini Cans commercial, the Hall of Famer stated, “I don’t accept gifts.” He explained this habit started back in 1992 when he became the breadwinner for his family. It wasn’t about the money, though—just a personal vow to focus on giving rather than receiving.

However, Effortless Motors and Shaq’s best friend, Anthony “Chicago” Hall, weren’t about to let that stop them. The dealership went all out, sharing a video of the gift on social media with the caption: “Big surprise! Effortless Motors has gifted @shaq the rare 1/100 Waido wide body 360 kit, topped off with stunning 26-inch Forgiatos!”

Interestingly, Shaq’s Cybertruck collection tells its own story. The first, a standard silver model, was iconic on its own. Then came the all-black beast, a truck that practically broke the Internet. Now, the latest addition—a deep burgundy ride with a custom ‘SHAQCAT’ license plate—takes his collection to another level.

Effortless Motors sent the truck straight to Shaq’s Las Vegas home while he was away. Hall, who’s been hilariously showcasing Shaq’s all-black Cybertruck online, was there to capture the moment. But here’s the kicker: at that time Shaq possibly didn’t know about his third Cybertruck—unless Hall couldn’t resist spilling the beans. Whether this means Shaq will stick to his no-car-buying goal or find a new way to bend his rules remains to be seen.

Shaquille O’Neal wants to stop buying cars

There was a time when Shaquille O’Neal blew through $1 million in under an hour after signing his first NBA contract. He didn’t just splurge on one Mercedes-Benz; he bought matching ones for his entire family. Stories like these paint a picture of a man who unapologetically embraced a flashy lifestyle, and for years, fans have loved him for it.

However, interestingly enough, Shaq recently shared a more reflective side during Robert Mtz’s Creativo podcast. When asked about financial advice for his younger self, the basketball icon said, “Yeah, save. Cause I’m a tell you, even that now I have 40 cars and I don’t know why. I don’t know why. And I got 5 houses, I don’t know why.”

Not only that, after setting social media on fire with his viral black Cyberbeast purchase, Shaq opened up about redefining success. Speaking on Shawn Walchef’s podcast, he said, “I’m at the point in my life I don’t do anything for monetary rewards.” He followed it with a surprising confession: “Can’t buy another car, can’t buy another boat, can’t buy no more jewellery… even though I just bought a new Tesla. I can’t. I’m done.” So, is Shaq really done with luxury splurges? Well, the Tesla in his driveway might say otherwise.
