Charles Barkley is one of the most sought-after sports media personalities in today’s world. His immediate transition to the sports media industry after his illustrious NBA career helped him learn the ropes of being an ‘NBA analyst’ early. However, it was his incredible work ethic and quick wit which has made him a household name today.

But in a recent podcast interview, the 76ers guard Patrick Beverley snubs Charles Barkley’s 23-year-old media career.

Over 23 years, Charles Barkley has built himself a huge NBA fanbase, who regularly follow his updates on the games in today’s league.

Many are of the opinion that Barkley’s insights to the game are reliable and his long tenure as a TNT host and analyst proves that point. However, in a recent episode of “The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone”, current Philadelphia 76ers guard Patrick Beverley does not think that Charles Barkley is the best as an ‘NBA analyst’.

Beverley is of the opinion that his former Clippers teammate (for a very brief period), JJ Reddick, is a better NBA analyst. After co-host Rone asks Beverley, “Who’s your number one in all of the media? It’s got to be Charles Barkley. For his insights, his humor, for the fact that he is been doing it for so long. Luminary. He’s got to be number one.

Patrick Beverley immediately replies, “I like JJ Reddick…see my number two is interesting. My number two and three are the same. Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal.

The 76ers star stands his ground and picks JJ Reddick over Charles Barkley as his favorite media person. But why?

Reddick never won an NBA championship nor did he win individual accolades. However, he played his role as an ‘off-the-bench’ sharpshooter very well. His contribution to his teams was definitely positive as he was a diligent student of the game.

After his retirement from the NBA in 2021, he immediately started his sports media career as a podcaster and sports analyst. Currently, he has his own podcast on all social media platforms and is also an analyst for ESPN. JJ Reddick is clearly enjoying his work as he continues to grow his fanbase with his strong opinions and detailed approach to the game.
