The re-sale of Kobe Bryant‘s 2010 championship rings has opened a platform for many to dwell deep into the LA champion’s relationship with his parents. The ring was first sold by Joe Bryant and Pamela Bryant in 2013 and was now auctioned once again a few days back. This has been the talk of the internet and Bryant’s reportedly shaky relationship with his parents has been brought to light once again. The latest to speak about this is none other than NFL legend Shannon Sharpe. Surprisingly, his 12-minute video on YouTube about this viral topic is facing severe backlash from the fans for misinterpretation of facts.

Shannon Sharpe shared some interesting stories about Kobe Bryant and Vanessa Bryant’s marriage in LA on his podcast Nightcap. Two notable pointers he made were, “He[Bryant] got married without a prenup,” and “His mom and dad did not go to the wedding,” Sharpe also shared a few personal opinions on this infamous story. He also revealed that Bryant did not like it when his parents did not show up to the wedding, and he decided to hold a grudge against them.
Sharpe said, “Kobe ain’t gonna forget nothing. He ain’t gonna forget that at all. He got that MJ in him…you go and take that to the grave.” However, all the above pointers that the 2x NFL champion made are just speculations on the internet. Reports have revealed there are rumors.

More importantly, Sharpe mistook that Bryant’s parents sold the ring once again a few days back. However, the buyer who bought the ring in 2013 from Bryant’s parents was the one who auctioned it last month. These misinterpretations struck a nerve for the fans.

Fans on YouTube believe Sharpe did not do proper research on Bryant’s relationship with his parents. Fans commented, “Speaking on family business without full information is crazy. RIP Kobe,” “No one but Kobe and his parents know the truth,” and “It’s deeper than what any of us will know. Family business.”
Another fan mentioned the truth behind the ring that was auctioned last month, “Come on, they are not selling it. It is being resold by the former buyer. Get the facts straight.“

The Nightcap is hosted by both Shannon Sharpe and former NBA guard Gilbert Arenas, although the latter was not present in the above video. And, fans believe Arenas does a better job at finding the right information. Fans commented, “Gilbert is the perfect person for this because he actually has insight on this situation,” and, “Gilbert tried to tell Shannon what actually happened but he kept cutting him off,” roping instances from previous videos. Well, it looks like the YouTube users want Sharpe to do more homework!
