Michael Jordan and his relentless fire. On the court, it would form the basis for one of the nastiest and most successful mean streaks. However, at times, the NBA legend went overboard with his competitiveness, resulting in rather intense encounters. Whether it was tales of punching teammates, or the “I took it personally” meme, stories about MJ run rampant. But, one time in particular, that nastiness came out in the form of trash talk. Not on the court, but on the course. And that too against a former US President.

Throughout the 4 major American sports, a trip to the White House is almost mandatory when winning the championship. So, a 6x NBA Champion himself, Michael Jordan made his fair share of trips to the nation’s capital. However, one time he infamously skipped the event in lieu of a golfing match.

That same golf course would turn out to be the arena for one of his more infamous trash-talking incidents. As the two were squaring off on the links, the Chicago Bulls legend was able to drag President Bill Clinton all the way to the Championship tees. And, all it took was one minor line from His Airness.

Jordan quipped, “You’re going to play from the little girls’ tee?” Not willing to acquiesce under pressure, Clinton stepped up to the challenge. But, it wasn’t just about accepting the challenge. When MJ would further demand that Clinton break 100, the former President was able to accomplish that as well, Newsweek reports.

But, Jordan’s history with US Presidents doesn’t end there. While MJ was the one laying it on against Bill, he became the subject of some intense ribbing a few years later, courtesy of Barack Obama.

When Michael Jordan became the subject of a roast by Barack Obama

In 2016, while a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Obama, the former owner of the Charlotte Hornets would unfortunately not leave unscathed. Whether it was handles or the ‘crying Jordan’ meme, no page was left unturned by the former President.

But, the worst of the exchange came when the President would reduce the 5x NBA MVP to a mere side character to Bugs Bunny. However, it was clearly said in jest with the former President’s love for Michael Jordan shining through in his statement when he was inducted into the Chicago Bulls Ring of Honor.

A man who mostly tends to stay out of politics, these examples were a unique light into Jordan’s brief dalliances with that side of the world.
