While today’s generation knows Charles Barkley as the fun-loving analyst on TNT, things are different for older people. Rapper Willie D of the Geto Boys has frequently mentioned Chuck in his diss tracks. Even after all these years, this hasn’t changed. Pointing out one miss in Barkley’s otherwise illustrious NBA career, the 57-year-old rapper has once again dished out harsh criticism.

He boldly claimed that Chuck shouldn’t comment on a player or team’s championship run since he never won a title himself. Willie D further stated that Chuck’s co-host on Inside the NBA, Shaquille O’Neal, is qualified to comment on championships since he has won four titles.

“Charles Barkley ain’t qualified to be telling a player any kind of player what it takes to win a championship because he don’t know,” the rapper said on Willie D Live. He added, “Individually, yeah, he had his stat…but I’m about the team. Okay, what about the team brother?” This is the same old criticism Barkley has faced since retiring.

People often overlook the Basketball Hall of Famer’s greatness because of this one shortcoming and criticize him for it. Fans are very well aware of the fact that while the 11x NBA All-Star did not win a championship ring, his accolades as MVP and NBA Rebounding Leader showcase his greatness.

He was named to the NBA’s 50th and 75th-anniversary teams. He is regarded as one of the greatest Power Forwards ever and arguably the greatest player to never win a ring. However, some tend to forget about it. Nonetheless, it doesn’t seem like there’s much the Chuckster can do to change Willie D’s opinion of him.

Willie D challenged Charles Barkley to a street fight

The Houston native even wanted to challenge Chuck to a street fight. The rapper believed that he could defeat Chuck despite the Philadelphia 76ers legend having the advantage of height and physique. Willie D was so confident that he said he wouldn’t play unless there was a $5 million prize in the competition.

“Dominate outside of the boxing ring, I’ll f*****g destroy him. Like a fight, fight where anything goes, I’d beat the brakes off Charles Barkley a**,” Willie D said to Scarface on Geto Boys Reloaded last year.

Sir Charles didn’t respond to the comment. While the reason behind Willie D’s animosity towards Chuck remains unclear, the rapper has been quite vocal about it. He often ends up taking it a bit too far. This is surprising given how one-sided the criticism has been.
