Miller said that his primary intention was just to “look good in my suit.” However, now it is something he puts in a lot of time and effort for. He now also understands the nuances of the activity and has unveiled how it helps him build physical and mental strength.

He said, “It’s a little different from basketball, because a lot of times, in my training, I’m solo, it’s just you and the bike and the equipment and the climbs, the intervals. That’s what builds up that mental strength. In basketball, you can work out on your own, but if it’s two on two or three on three, there are other people around. In cycling, you can get everything done by yourself.” The thing that he appreciates the most about mountain biking is the mental strength that it has built in him.

He was recently featured on Mountain Flyer Volume 79, where he talked about the adventure that is mountain biking. Miller had a stellar career in the NBA and post-retirement, he took up television analyst work which he was very successful in. However, once he thought of taking his health and fitness a little more seriously, that is when his new connection with mountain biking started, and going by the moves he is making, it is only going to grow more from here.

The 58-year-old also shared his new achievements and accomplishments with his fans on social media. In December last year, he shared a post highlighting all he has done with his mountain biking passion and the happiness of closing the year on a high note. He wrote, “What a way to finish my 2023 race season by a 4th place finish at the @quickndirtymtb Dirty30!! The race was made special because we were returning to Sycamore Canyon for the first time in 5 years, which meant the return of the downhill classic Martha’s and the climb to the finish line of Cardiac Hill.”

Miller is also impressed by the sense of community that bikers have. He said that they don’t come up to help him because he is Reggie Miller, but they see him as another biker who is passionate about it.
