“If you’re afraid to fail then you’re probably going to fail.” This is what inspired the Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant. He was fearless and lived by a killer mentality. However, in moments of pain and challenges, feeling overwhelmed and discouraged is normal. But that is when we discover our biggest strength just like Bryant did. Back in 2013, the Lakers legend sustained a serious injury.
During his entire career, he faced numerous serious injuries and off-court issues. After overcoming insurmountable obstacles, the Black Mamba revealed the truth of his strength in a podcast episode in 2018.

The words that changed Kobe Bryant’s life
Let’s take a walk back in time to when the 5-time NBA champion sat for an interview with Lewis Howes in an episode of ‘The School of Greatness’. During the show, he revealed how he always likes to follow one thing in his life.
He said, “ Rest at the end not in the middle. That’s something I always live by. I am not gonna rest, I am gonna keep on pushing now.”
These words are exactly what you can expect from someone who doesn’t relate to lazy people. He is known for his strict workout style and ethic.

Three years after the tragic demise of the Lakers player and his daughter Gianna Bryant in that fateful accident, we still feel the huge void he left in the world. But his words and memories always live in people’s hearts. Not just now, back in 2013, when he missed several games due to his potentially career-ending injury, fans missed seeing him on the court.

Kobe Bryant’s surgery to repair his Achilles tendon
The Black Mamba was 34 years old when he tore his Achilles tendon. It was during one of the Lakers’ matches against the Golden State Warriors. For the treatment, he had to undergo surgery. This was the most serious injury, he sustained during his entire career.
Not only fans, but the legend himself was close to losing his hope. He began to question if he ever would be able to get on the court again.
