Michael Jordan’s talent outside and inside the basketball court has helped him create a popular name and brand all around the world. So, it is obvious when people from all walks of life give his example and tag other people as MJs of their field. However, when former WWE superstar and a 2X WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels was called the Michael Jordan of professional wrestling, it upset WWE legend Ric Flair.

Shawn Michaels is a 4X World Champion, a 3X Intercontinental Champion, and 2X Royal Rumble winner so him being compared to Jordan doesn’t feel like a reach. But Ric Flair wrestled his last match in WWE against HBK because he considered him one of the best superstars of WWE. So why does the Nature Boy have a problem with Michaels’ comparison to Michael Jordan?

Jeff Jarrett is a third-generation wrestler and a WWE Hall of Famer. On his My World With Jeff Jarrett YouTube channel, he answered some fan questions. During the answer, Jarrett compared Shawn Michaels to Jordan.

Double J considers Michaels one of the best in-ring workers and also highlights HBK matches against the Undertaker. He continued how Michaels could match up with anybody irrespective of height or weight class difference and the match will always turn out to be excellent. This comparison got Ric Flair angry and said, “I can’t believe you said he was the Michael Jordan.

Jeff Jarrett was firm in his answer and did not change his stance. Yet Ric Flair feels that Jordan is not the GOAT of basketball.

Flair choosing Lakers Legend over Michael Jordan

Ric Flair made an appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast alongside NFL legend, Shannon Sharpe. During the podcast, he was asked to choose between MJ and LeBron. But his answer kind of shocked some people. One of the reasons that he chose LeBron was because of his longevity.

He said, “It’s unreal and he don’t take time off.” Also praised his overall play style and called him more inclusive. Flair felt The King always tried to include players by creating opportunities for them.

The Nature Boy during the 2020 season did the introduction for LeBron and the Lakers before their win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Flair shouted, “Los Angeles, home of the greatest franchise in sports. The L.A. Lakers! And the home of the greatest athlete in the world today, LeBron James – the king! Wooooo! Woooo! Lakers, let’s do it.”

So Ric Flair has made his allegiance towards LeBron James quite clear. But do you think is he wrong in ignoring His Airness?
