After coming out as transgender in 2020, Zaya has continued to extend love and support for others, just as her parents were to her. It wasn’t an easy journey for the family. From fighting to give Zaya her own name and identity to facing criticism, the family has inspired many. Wade also received the Elevate Prize Catalyst Award for his contributions.

Zaya’s impact as a teenager did not go unnoticed. She was honored as one of this year’s groundbreakers at the event. She wore a black Lena jacket dress with leopard-print collars, once again serving a stunning look. Her stepmother also delivered a standout fashion moment that night.

While the Bring It On actress wore a short green and brown gingham dress, the Miami Heat champ paired his turtleneck sweater with a denim jacket and black pants. Cynthia Erivo and Sheryl Lee Ralph were among the other honorees at the event.
